Finishing Up Production

My group finished the reminding of 6 slides in our storyboard today. We had planned originally to film at one of our groupmates ' houses because of the darker lighting and space layout. For personal reasons, we weren't able to film there and found a suitable filming location where I live. We made many adjustments to our storyboard to help better detail our story and allow it to be more understandable. Our first three slides take place in the bathroom. We had our main character lip-sync, we added a montage, and changed the scenario to fit the mood of the character. These scenes were quick and easy to film as we all agreed on the creative ideas that we were added to the video. Things became less smooth when we started to film in my bedroom for the final three scenes. Our transition scene was a new idea because we agreed on the one we originally had made the music video look choppy and didn't flow. Inside, we replaced it with the main character walking into the bedroom with sadness and closing the door. Our actress didn't quite grasp what "with emotion" meant, so we filmed the scene more times than I care to mention because I lost count. Her laughter or poker face didn't sell the scene as we envisioned. Finally, my groupmate shows the actress how to make her facial expressions and we were able to wrap with that scene. The next scene was a new idea and it turned out to be our easiest to film. It only took us one shot. We had it wrapped in no time and moved on to the final shot. The final one written on our storyboard is the one we kept, but it did take us several tries to capture. We struggled to get the angle correct because of my height difference with the desired scene and the corresponding angles. It was difficult for me to see the phone, and the scene footage looked very "half-done" and imperfect. My groupmate stepped in to retry and he filmed it perfectly. I sent him all the clips we were keeping so he could place them into iMovie and called it a productive day!
