Group Selection Blog

I was given the chance to choose up to 4 partners for this project. Though it is often highly discouraged by teachers to pick friends as partners. I chose three of my newest made friends to help me with this project. Firstly, there is my close friend Lucy who always sits next to me throughout the media studies class. I choose her because we work well together and she has a similar work ethic to mine. She also believes project tasks should be done expeditiously and works hard to make sure of that. Next is Kai, she is very creative which is helpful when it comes to projects such as these. From choosing which angles and camera light we should use, to crafting the storyboard, she grasps all the aspects we need. Next, there is Willow. We do share the same media studies class time and she is wonderful at analyzing and deconstructing film. She may be a little camera shy but overall a great working partner. Her analytical personality helps in nit-picking the videos to perfection. Mix her commentary with Lucy’s and Kai’s creativity and you have a perfect production team. Finally, I contribute to the group specifically with editing. My three partners are not sure how to edit and use different tools to create and finalize the videos. My job is to make sure the project is put together with transitions and proper editing. I chose to work with others rather than alone because of the weight of this project. With the many blogs, research, and filming; it was going to be a tough burden on me if I had simply done it alone. Now the work can be evenly distributed, while also having fun! We have already been brainstorming ideas and pitches. Overall, we all share the same excitement to begin this project!
