The Production Continues

Last week, my group did the beginning 10 scenes of our storyboard. We felt with how they came out and were confident about the shots. Today we began shooting the middle section of our storyboard. This was completely different from our last shoot! As I noted in the last blog, we ended up changing a lot of things that altered the rest of the shots. Our filming was starting to focus less on character introductions, and more on plot movement. This was convenient for our scenes since we didn't have to do any modifications, but it was difficult to edit our script to adapt. This middle part of the script was lacking in many areas and needed an overall redo. This raised the tensions in our group a lot. We all split up the planning process amongst ourselves. I did the schedule, Kai did the storyboard, Lucy did the script, and Willow did the title sequence. Lucy's failure to complete her part made the whole group upset and put us in an aggravated and passive-aggressive mood. This made filming extremely difficult as any notes or retakes were followed with a sigh, a huff, or an eye-roll. I felt like I was walking on eggshells. Fortunately, nobody lost their cool and we made it through. Filming ended and we all quickly went home to give each other some space. When I went home I asked Lucy to send me the videos she took so I can place them to get ready for editing. It took her a while to respond before I got them. When I was rewatching them, they were just okay. It was so different from how confident I felt with our first 10 shots. I was going to express my concerns about the shoots, but due to the foul mood everyone was in, I am going to wait another day to share my opinion.
