First Day of Fliming

Image
Today, after all our content research, planning, and storyboarding, we were finally able to start filming. I brought in my own props, makeup, and costumes needed for the scenes in the commercial. While in the refreshing air-conditioned classeoom room, we prepared for the shots. We were given a pass and went down to the main gates of our school to start filming. My partner and I both reviewed the scenes on the storyboard multiple times and then hit the record button! It took several adjustments to account for lightning, background and overall feel but we were happy with the final shots. We were excited because our scenes came out almost exactly like we planned on our storyboard. Though 90 minutes might seem like a lot of time when you are outside in the hot Florida sun, our session went by in a flash. Our only disappointment today was that we were only able to record 4 out of our 6 scenes in the time we had today. Our filming was cut short by the ringing of the school bell and our set

Scene 1: Commercial starts off black with a sound effect of a gate closing, (music starts playing) which then cuts to a medium-long tracking shot of the main actor walking into school; it continues to follow the actor deeper into the outside school hall,  Slide 2: This scene will be a POV shot of the main actor ripping off three "MASKS REQUIRED" papers off of their respective poles from the outside school hallway, using the diegetic sound of the paper being ripped off from the poles. Each of the three shots will be slightly jumped cut to increase the speed of action and therefore tension. Scene 3:Then, the commercial will cut jump to a slightly high shot of the main actor putting chewed gum in the middle of the three papers, and then crumbling it up and throwing it on the ground, which will use the diegetic sound of the paper being crumpled. An action match show will show the paper hitting the ground after the actor throws it. Slide 4: The actor starts to walk into the school

My group is doing a commercial for disposable masks. These commercials typically showcase emotional situations (sick/old people at risk), certain angles, and sounds/music in order to convince people to buy and wear masks. CAMS The most common angles used in these commercials are eye level, which humanizes the person in the commercial, making it easier to reach an emotional connection with the viewer. In addition to the eye level, the commercials typically use close up shots to intensifying the eye contact between commercial and viewer, therefore increasing emotional connection In terms of camera motion, these commercials often use a tracking shot to follow the main individual in the commercial, which inserts the viewer in the action of the individual, making it easier to empathize with them SOUND These commercials purposely lack music in order to focus on diegetic sounds coming from humans (etc. heart beating, breathing, and exhaling), which is once again an attempt to summon pathos i

Props: Our main goal of the commercial is to sell our fabulous facial covering the " Ideal Mask ", making the main prop of the commercial our unique disposable mask, with the secondary prop, the mask's blue-colored lanyard.  Costumes: When it comes to our commercial, one of us will have the majority of the screen time in typical school attire. We'll use solid color clothing, basic pants with a proper shirt or sweater. Another prop will be a common hospital gown. Both actors will be wearing lanyards and disposable maks of the same color.  Schedule: On 9/24/21, Storyboard and storyboard blog will be complete. On 9/30/21, Filming will begin and we expect to capture all the needed shots for our 30-second commercial within the week. On 10/4/21, Filming is to be completed.  On 10/8/21, The Editing of the scenes will be completed and our final commercial will be ready for submission. Location List: Our central location will be at the entrance of the school, where the main ga

For this assignment, I have chosen to work with the perfect partner. His name is Michael Smith and he has been a friend since 7th grade. He also sits next to me during media studies, I chose to work with Michael not only because our friendship but I know that he has a good work ethic and wants to finish tasks in a timely manner, just like me. He already has an idea for the commercial we will be shooting. I do not like his concept because of its bland and unengaging sequence. As well as ithe difficultly of the scenery he is proposing and other items that will be difficult to shoot at school. With that being said, I have only come up with two ideas as of right now, that I will pitch to him on my next media studies block day. My first idea is a commercial that is trying to sell perfume. The travel size, cheap perfume bottles are typical for teenagers and young adults. The Ad will have very little dialogue and soft music as do most perfume/fragrance commercials do.   Hello, My name is Mia. I am 15 years old and this is my first year taking AICE Media Studies.  I'm excited to be a part of this class because I have always wanted to explore filmmaking and become a better storyteller. I joined this class not only for the learning opportunities but more importantly to one day pursue a career in the entertainment and filmmaking industry. I find myself analyzing the details of shows I watch as to what makes a movie or television show great. Some would say I have an eye for the process and the details that go into different shows, but I have yet to gain experience working on one of my own. The closest I have been was a 7th-grade group assignment in which we had to make a music video about Math. We were tasked with creating lyrics and video footage about math formulas. It only took my group three days of preparing and filming to complete the project. The final product was well received and was given an A grade.  The coursework in  AICE Media Studies h
